A Steadier Way to Preserve What You've Built

Our Story

Founded on a Simple Observation

Vellumate came about when two friends in Bangkok — one a records archivist, the other a former estate administrator — noticed the same thing in family after family: when the time came to locate and make sense of important documents, photographs, and personal items, no one knew where to begin.

Not from carelessness, but simply because no one had ever built a clear system. Papers were filed in drawers across three rooms. Photographs sat in unlabelled boxes. Heirloom pieces had no written record of their history or significance.

The team behind Vellumate set out to offer a calm, structured response to this. Working quietly alongside families in their own homes and at our Khlong Toei office, we help people bring lasting order to the records and belongings they care about — without pressure, and at a pace that suits them.

Our Mission

To give every family in Bangkok access to the kind of careful, thoughtful record-keeping that ensures their personal history is never lost to time or disorganisation.

What We Believe

  • That personal records deserve the same care as professional ones
  • That families should own and control their own documentation
  • That plain, clear language is always more useful than specialist jargon
  • That no two families have the same needs — so no two projects look exactly alike

Based in Bangkok

We are a locally rooted team. All our work is carried out within Bangkok, either at our office near Thanon Rama IV or at your own home or workplace. We do not outsource any part of the cataloguing or archiving process.

How We Work

Our Standards and Practices

The approach we take to every project — whether a single session or a multi-week engagement.

Data Handled Carefully

All personal documents and records are handled only by our own team. Nothing is photographed, copied, or processed by third-party contractors.

Documented Process

Each project begins with a written scope and ends with a handover checklist. You always know what was done, what was produced, and what was returned.

On-Site Service

For cataloguing and digitization, we come to you. There is no need to transport fragile or sentimental items anywhere. We bring all necessary equipment.

Full Ownership to You

Digital outputs — scanned documents, inventory files, and photographic records — are delivered to you in full. We retain no copies after formal handover.

Regular Updates

For longer projects, we check in at each stage so you are never left wondering about progress. Changes to scope are always discussed before they are actioned.

Clear Written Deliverables

Every engagement produces a well-labelled, readable output — whether an inventory spreadsheet, a set of archived folders, or a printed workshop workbook.

Estate Organisation and Personal Record-Keeping in Bangkok

For many Bangkok families, the first serious attempt to gather together personal records and account for family belongings happens at a moment of transition — a move, an inheritance discussion, or simply the realisation that things have accumulated without any structure. Vellumate works with families and individuals at all stages of this process, from those just starting to think about it to those with a specific need, such as a household move or a wish to document items for family members abroad.

Our cataloguing service is built around physical visits to your home, where we review and photograph items in place, build a clear written inventory, and hand everything over in a format you can share easily with family, solicitors, or insurers. The process moves at whatever pace suits you — some families prefer a single focused session, others prefer a series of shorter visits spread across several weeks.

Our digitization service applies the same careful approach to paper documents. Land title documents, correspondence, photographs, certificates, and other personal papers are scanned at high resolution, given consistent file names, and organised into a folder structure that makes sense to non-specialist users. The finished archive is yours — stored wherever you choose and shared with whoever you wish.
